If you are experiencing difficulties using our site,
it is probably for one of the following reasons:
1. You don't have Real Player
2. You have Real Player but can't hear the listening passages
3. You don't know how to download a unit and work offline
4. Navigation around the site is very slow
5. You don't have Macromedia Flash Player
The solution to 1, 2, & 3 can be found by following the instructions
given below (please see Downloading the free
Real Player from Real.Com). If you are experiencing problem
4 it could be that your computer needs upgrading (see
technical specifications below) or that you are trying to access
the site at a busy time (try later!). For problem 5 click here
and you will be instructed how to download the free player necessary
to view the drag and drop exercises.
Downloading the free Real Player
from Real.com
To be able to listen to the audio documents you will need to download
the Real Player G2 (free download) or G2 Plus. Click here
to download Real Player now. This will take you directly to the
Real Player download page in a new window.
- To begin downloading, click on a location ('Seattle WA' is ok).
- Next, choose 'Save this program to disk'. We suggest you change
the filename to 'Realplayer' and save it in the 'Desktop' folder.
Note the name and path of the file
1. (e.g. C:\ Desktop\Real Player) so that you can open it later.
The download will take 20 - 30 minutes. Your computer must remain
connected during the download.
2. When the download is complete, open the file that you have
downloaded. You can do this by going to 'Start' then 'Run'.
Then type in the address e.g. C:\ Desktop\Real Player. This
will install the Real Player. Click 'Accept', type in your e-mail
address, and finish.
Now go back to the on-line learning site. When you select a document
to listen to, the sound file will be downloaded using Real Player.
Then you can use the Real Player controls (Forward, Pause, Stop
and the volume control). If you go into 'View' on the Real Player,
and select 'Compact', this will reduce the size on the screen.
